Flamenco Eñe: David Carmona

David Carmona is one of the most virtuosic guitarists of his generation. He studied flamenco with master guitarist Manolo Sanlúcar, and has made a strong contribution the thriving explorations in new flamenco. In his London debut, David presents what is regarded to be one of the best flamenco works of recent years: Un sueño de locura (A Crazy Dream). A thoughtful, coherent and suggestive piece that focuses attention on one of the paths through which Andalusian music has evolved: its tradition of guitar playing. The originality of his compositions leads audiences into a wholly sensatory world, evocative of colors and aromas joined by a flowing discourse that pulses with both flamenco and poetry.
