Pasión del Sur
Ensamble “Pasión del Sur” is formed by siblings Irene and José Ortega.
Irene Ortega is a cellist with a degree from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, a Master’s degree from the Royal Academy of Music of London and a postgraduate degree from the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Florence. She currently combines her professional activity as a concert performer with her role as a cultural promoter, artistic director, musical disseminator and trainer under her own personal brand Irene Ortega-La Belleza de lo Clásico®.
Meanwhile, José F. Ortega is a flamenco guitarist, with a background in classical guitar. He started in this world under the guidance of Antonio Piñana (son), concluding his higher studies with Carlos and Curro Piñana at the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Manuel Massotti Littel” in Murcia. He has participated as a teacher in the Urban Programme and is currently a flamenco guitar teacher at the Cartagena Conservatory of Music.
