Florencia Oz & Isidora O’Ryan

Antípodas

In Antípodas, Chilean flamenco dancer Florencia Oz, Best New Artist Award at Jerez Festival 2021,shares the stage with her twin sister: cellist and singer lsidora O’Ryan. Inspired by the figureof the doppelganger from the Romantic period (as in Schubert’s Doppelgänger) they explore duality and the boundaries of the individual in a poetic dialogue. They sweep you along in a story of how they were once one, until the moment that one ceased to be the other and became herself. With playful elegance, Florencia Oz and Isidora O’Ryan create a contemporary and minimalistic world of movement. In between strings, voices and movement, a visual and sensual performance is crafted on the boundary of where oneends and the other begins. The dance, the flamenco, the percussion and the visual poetry of one influence the instrument, the melody, the vocals and the poetry of the other.
