Bailaora, within me, within you

Bailaora, within me, within you , is a story of the awakening to the evolution of flamenco artform through dance from the perspective of the new world.

‘Bailaora’ traces the evolution of flamenco from a New World perspective.  Award-winning choreographer and dancer Siudy Garrido is recognized for her contemporary work on flamenco. Siudy Flamenco is known for collaborations with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Farruquito and Antonio Canales.

New order original music proposal written and led by Juan Parrilla and Manuel Fernandez. The sounds of the music at first are more akin to world music, but soon transitions smoothly into the visceral fabric of traditional flamenco – guitar, cajón and the “cataor” (Flamenco singer) with flute melodies, layers of electric guitar with a synthetized sounds creating a magical sonic experience over a completely traditional flamenco composition.

The narrative follow an emotional road map through dance, absorbing timeless experiences that become the awakening to an evolutive art form. The result is a resounding humanist and feminist commentary on self-invention and self-determination, revealing the vulnerability and inner strength of a warrior whose only voice is her art.
