ADIOSES: Myth, Ritual and Creation

It connects us in this new search with the divine and its relationship with the human.

Between man and the reality that surrounds him, between order and chaos, the monster and the hero, the divine and the sacred. Representations that open the possibility to a whole figurative world where, on the one hand, visible things are represented, and, on the other hand, the content of beliefs and everything that groans inside the human soul is given form.

A scenic and dance fantasy told through the metamorphosis of the performers to offer a piece where dance, theater and music join hands in an interdisciplinary dialogue. Dancers who sing and singers who dance and recite, instruments that sound or act as props, reflections of light that let us glimpse moments of mysterious poetry or that make the scenes shine.

A celebration of farewells, absences, desires and longings, because the manifestation of the divine is always instantaneous: “he left me in an instant”.

THE SOUND

A melody covers as much as the earth. It distracts us, invokes we know not what, makes us look up while the abominable happens below, in the dark. This averting our gaze and fixing it on high consoles. Music builds height, manufactures an above; in it sounds a being safe.

The impossibility of fixing a language, the inability to express graphically the height of a sound or its gravity, the unfeasible way of indicating its duration, the insurmountable obstacle of noting a melodic drawing, a humble song, the easiest melody, devoid of any flight, explain part of the sacred character that we will assign to music. The intangible and evanescent, the unattainable.

The invisibility reduced to sound, the vibration spread through the air like pollen, will lead us to establish an analogy that invites us to identify it with the nature of the gods, our Adioses. What will enjoy existence in the single instant of its expression, be it the song of a farewell, a bell tolling or the notes of a bandurria together with the sound of dance, will be destined to be diluted forever in a silence.
