The commanding singer Ismael Fernández, of Gypsy descent, was born in Seville and grew up performing around the world with his renowned family, “Los Fernández.” With his partner, dancer Sonia Olla, he has created numerous shows and worked with artists throughout the world, including flamenco dancer Farruquito, pop artists Madonna and Ricky Martin, and jazz artist Chano Domínguez, who also produced Ismael’s new album, Trato (Deal). In Joe’s Pub with its intimate setting, the program promises the audience un trato: intense emotion, soulful singing and intoxicating rhythms.

Described by The Washington Post as the “most charismatic performer” and a “connection to the Gypsy source”, Ismael Fernández was born in Seville, of Gypsy descent, grew up performing in flamenco festivals throughout the world with his internationally renowned family, “La Familia Fernández”. His career began in Spain’s premier flamenco tablaos such as El Cordobes in Barcelona, La Carboneria in Seville and other famous flamenco cuevas of Granada.
