Miguel Poveda

Miguel Poveda was awarded at the Festival de Cante de las Minas de La Unión held in 1993 with four prizes, one of them being the "Lámpara Minera", one of them, the 'Lampara Minera' this one the most sought-after all of them. From that moment on, his career took on a rising route: he played in the movie 'La Teta y La Luna" by Bigas Luna; recorded his first record, 'Viento del Este', and appeared on national and international festivals.

In 1997 he produced a show for a seminar organized by the University of Bologna based on the Poets of Generation 1927. He was also requested by the Festival of Culture and Arts in Ramallah, Palestine, and soon after he did his first tour in Japan. In 1998 he presented his work 'Suena Flamenco' (wich was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Latino Awards)

Recently, at the beginning of 2006, he has been in the Lincon Center in New York, opening the II Festival of Flamenco USA, event that presentates important concerts around cities of USA. Also he is acting in the Festival of Flamenco in London
