Vicente Amigo
His career began with recording works such as “De mi corazón al aire” (1991), “Vivencias imaginadas” (1995) or “Poeta” (1997), the latter with texts by Rafael Alberti, and reached a moment of maximum intensity in the year 2000 with “City of ideas”. Inspired by the poems of the Greek poet Constantin Cavafis, this work was at the same time an introspection into one’s own memories and a connection with East and West, anexpansion that marked the beginning of maturity and with which he won his first Grammy award. Other solo albums followed, such as “A moment in the sound” (2005), “Paseo de Gracia” (2009), “Tierra” (2013) or “Memoria de los sentidos” (2017), with which he won again the Latin Grammy and that he was nominated for the American Grammys. His music, over the years, has always remained open to the world, in constant refinement and in search of the lasting.Throughout his career, Vicente Amigo has worked with greatguitar geniuses such as Paco de Lucía and Manolo Sanlúcar and with singers such as Enrique Morente, Carmen Linares, Diego El Cigala, Miguel Poveda, El Pele, José Mercé and Estrella Morente. Also with international stars like Sting, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Milton Nascimento, Alejandro Sanz or Guy Fletcher. With his different shows, he has toured the main international theaters such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Liceo in Barcelona and in different spaces in cities suchas London, Rome, Berlin, Paris, Tokyo or Beijing. In his list of awards, beyond the two Grammys, he has the Gold Medal of Fine Arts, the Festival de las Minas award, the Ondas or several SGAE Music Awards. Currently, the guitarist resides in Córdoba, the city of which he is the Adoptive Son.
