Alejandro Hurtado has been hailed as one of the most prominent flamenco guitarists of his generation. He follows in the tradition of ancient guitar masters such as Montoya, Niño Ricardo, and Sabicas, championing the role of flamenco guitar as a solo instrument. He studied under many virtuosos, including Antonio Cerreduela “El Nani”, Manolo Sanlúcar, and Rafael Riqueni, and has received over a dozen awards, including the prestigious Bordón Minero at the International Cante Festival of La Minas in 2017. His brilliance as an accompanist has led him to perform with renowned singers Mayte Martín and Miguel Poveda and to appear on several recordings and film soundtracks. In 2022, he released his debut solo recording, “Masters of Classical Flamenco Art,” featuring works by Ramón Montoya and Manolo de Huelva.
